Use a “Before” Picture to Avoid Getting Overwhelmed By Any Project

Use a “Before” Picture to Avoid Getting Overwhelmed By Any Project

Working on a new project can be intimidating, especially when you see how far you still have to go. Try taking a picture when you start so you'll keep track of all you've accomplished.

In her blog, Elizabeth Spann Craig suggests taking a "before" picture when you start any big project:

Remember how far we've come since the start of our project. If this is a home improvement or organizing project, it helps to take a picture of the "before", just to remind us. If its writing–remember that blank page and the first words we wrote down.

When you get overwhelmed, stop and look at that before picture. You'll focus on your accomplishments and the picture will boost your motivation to continue on. After all, look how far you've come already.
