The Worst Things to Buy on Amazon: Clothing, Diapers, Batteries, More

The largest online retailer is an awesome one-stop shop, but while it's very convenient to just order everything from Amazon, it's not always going to give you the best bang for your buck—even if you use "Subscribe and Save" or have Amazon Prime. Kiplinger, via Shopping.com, has highlighted nine items you should probably skip buying on Amazon.

Clothing and shoes top the list, primarily because clothing stores and online shoe stores can greatly discount these items with coupons and such, and Amazon doesn't. And while the Amazon Mom program might save you a bunch on brand-name diapers, store-brand diapers will still be cheaper at places like Target or Walmart.

In line with our previous findings, generally speaking, for food and specialty consumer goods (e.g., pet food and athletic shoes), Amazon might be more convenient but not your best bet if you want to save money. (Warning: Slideshow ahead.)
