Disconnect the Center Channel to Silence Sports Commentators

Disconnect the Center Channel to Silence Sports Commentators

Even if you're a devoted sports fan, chances are high you've wanted the commentators to just shut up at some point or another. If you're watching on a TV with surround sound, you can get your wish. Just disconnect (or turn down) the center channel.

As you may know, in 5.1 and up surround system setups, the center channel is usually reserved for dialog. Movies and TV shows do a bit more mixing to create a feeling of space, but sports commentary usually isn't so complicated. So, in many cases, you can simply remove the center channel to watch the game as if you were there, without the announcers yakking in your ear. Just be sure to reconnect the channel when you're done.
