Cook Crisp, Tender Veggies with Your Dishwasher

Cook Crisp, Tender Veggies with Your Dishwasher

We've talked before about how to poach salmon, and cook other things, in your dishwasher. If you have veggies that you like to have tender yet still a little crisp, your dishwasher offers a pretty handy way to do it.

As WonderHowTo explains, all you have to do is toss veggies like green beans or carrots in a Mason jar, add a bit of oil and some seasonings, put the lid on, and then put it in the dishwasher while you're cleaning other dishes.

My thoughts were probably the same as yours when I read about other dishes you can cook in your dishwasher: why use an empty, clean dishwasher to cook something when my oven is better suited to the task? What I like about this tip is the sealed Mason jars. You can cook your veggies while you're doing a regular load of dishes. I'm thinking it might be nice to toss some veggies in to cook while doing the evening load of dishes so that I can throw together a quick veggie or pasta salad for lunch the next day.
