Chrome: Wikipedia is a useful tool, but it's navigation hasn't changed much over the last several years. WikiTweaks gives you a few new options to play around with.
The extension adds a pop-up box when you hover over a link that gives you a summary of the page it links to. It only works within Wikipedia, but that can be plenty useful on its own, given that the rabbit trail often goes deep solely out of curiosity. It also removes the side bar so you can get more content in a smaller window area, making research a lot easier.
