Most Popular Headset with Attached Microphone: SteelSeries Siberia V2

Most Popular Headset with Attached Microphone: SteelSeries Siberia V2

If you're looking for a headset that's great when you're talking to coworkers on Skype or Hangouts, teammates on Teamspeak or Ventrilo, or just rocking out to music, you have options. We asked you for your faves, then looked at the five best headsets. Now it's time to crown the crowd favorite.

Most Popular Headset with Attached Microphone: SteelSeries Siberia V2

Proving that age doesn't mean a thing, one of the oldest headsets in our lineup (and one that appeared when we last ran this poll back in 2012) topped the charts this time around. The SteelSeries Siberia V2 took the top spot with just shy of 28% of the overall vote. Solid design, sturdy build quality, great audio, and a crisp, clear, retractable microphone all at a budget-friendly price earned your praise, and your votes.

However, 28% of the vote means that none of the top five took a huge margin, and all of them settled in with roughly the same general numbers. Second place was only eight votes behind first place, and picked up over 27% of the votes cast—the Sennheiser PC350 Special Edition, which many of you rightfully noted was the only headset in the roundup by people who make headphones—great headphones at that, so you know you'll get good audio out of them. Third place went to the Logitech G930 7.1 Wireless Gaming Headset, which earned over 19% of the votes cast thanks to its wireless range, long-lasting charge, customizable buttons, and of course, Logitech pedigree. In fourth place, the pricey but equally high-end and well-built ASTRO A50 Wireless System brought in over 13% of the vote, and bringing up the rear was the Razer Kraken 7.1 Chroma, with over 11% of the overall vote.

The Hive Five is based on reader nominations. As with most Hive Five posts, if your favorite was left out, it didn't get the nominations required in the call for contenders post to make the top five.
