Bluetooth earbuds are awesome for exercise, and mandatory if you want to use your Android Wear or Apple Watch to listen to audio on the go. For $22, you might as well run off with a pair. [ Soundpeats Qy7 Mini Lightweight Wireless Stereo Sports/running & Gym/exercise Bluetooth Earbuds, $22]
Network attached storage is great for backing up your computers and streaming media around the house, but buying a box and then stuffing it with hard drives can get expensive. The Seagate Central (much like the better-known WD My Cloud) exists somewhere in the middle. The drive is built into the case just like an external hard drive, but you can still access all of its contents over your local network, or even the wider internet.
Once you have your files onboard, you can stream them to various boxes around your house via DLNA, or download mobile apps to view and manage them from your phones and tablets. Reviews seem to indicate that it's a lot slower than a "real" NAS, and it only has one drive, so it won't be redundant, but you can't beat the simplicity.
The 3TB flavor of the Seagate Central is only $80 today, which would be a good price for any 3TB external drive, let alone one with built-in networking. [Seagate Central 3TB Network-Attached Hard Drive, $80]
The Acer C720 has long been one of the most popular Chromebooks on the market, and if you've been holding out for a deal on the touchscreen model, it just dipped below $200 for the first time.
Today only, Best Buy is listing the C720p with 10-point multitouch screen for just $180, an all-time low by a huge margin. Other than the touchscreen, this is pretty much your standard Chromebook configuration, albeit with 32GB of local storage instead of 16GB. [Acer C720p, $180]
If you want to save a few more bucks, you can opt to preorder the brand new Haier Chromebook 11 on Amazon for $149. You'll lose the touchscreen and extra local storage, but it does have better quoted battery life (10 hours vs. 7.5).
If you ever go camping for days at a time, this solar-powered Eton Bluetooth speaker ensures that you'll never have to be without music. Its water-resistant design is great for the outdoors, and its built-in battery can run for 8 hours without any sunlight, or even charge your gadgets via a USB port.
Today only, Amazon's knocked its price down to $45, an all-time low. This is a Gold Box deal, so the price will go back up at midnight PT, unless it sells out early. [Eton Rugged Rukus Solar USB Charger/ Bluetooth Speaker, $45]
Well this is just brilliant. This 9,000mAh external USB charger has a built-in microUSB cable to charge your phone, and also a set of folding AC prongs so you can plug it directly into a wall outlet for charging.
Of course, there's also an additional USB port to charge an iPhone or a second Android phone as well, but if you don't need that, it's possible to use this charger without carrying any extra cords at all. You're paying a small premium for that convenience, but I think it's worth it. [ RAVPower Savior Multi-functional 9000mAh External Battery Pack Built-in Micro-USB connector and AC Plug, $30 with code RWA4VLM7]
Growing plants in a windowless office, basement, closet, or attic is usually not an option, but this 4.6 star-rated LED grow light from TaoTronics can simulate the sunshine that you need for only $30.
The bulb emits both blue and red light, the first of which is great for leaves, while the latter is necessary for blooming and fruits. Plus, it'll fit into any standard light socket, so you should have no trouble setting it up in just the right position. [TaoTronics LED Plant Grow Light, $30 with code OH9VZKCF]
This Convenience Concepts storage bench comes with a flip-around wooden serving tray, and four nice looking ottomans to boot. It might not be your style, and we don't normally post furniture sets here, but $87 is a pretty ridiculous price for all of this stuff, especially with great reviews and free shipping. [Convenience Concepts Designs-4-Comfort Manhattan Storage Bench with 4 Collapsible Ottomans, $87]
If you're only an occasional PC gamer, you probably don't want to spend $70-$100 on a high end gaming mouse; this $15 alternative probably has everything you need. Even at that price, you get nine programmable buttons, six-color customizable backlighting, and even OMRON Micro switches for nimble clicking. [iClever IC-M1 3200 DPI LED Wired USB Optical Gaming Mouse, $15 with code P8WZGXW2]
The Moto 360 is arguably the best Android Wear watch on the market, and it's unquestionably the most popular. If you've been waiting for a deal to pick one up, Amazon has the standard model down to $212 right now, an all-time low.
Update: Actually, Motorola is running a $50 off promotion if you buy it from them directly, so that's a better option unless you have a nice pile of Amazon gift cards leftover from the holidays.
It wasn't too long ago that you were lucky to find the 360 in stock, let alone discounted, so it's nice to start seeing some solid price drops. [Moto 360, $212]
We don't see discounted gas station gift cards very often, but when we do, they usually sell out quickly. At today's prices, this works out to roughly four gallons of regular unleaded basically for free. [$100 ExxonMobil Gift Card, $90]
Amazon's offering a 20% off coupon on a nice collection of snacks and cookies today. Your choices include Ritz Chips, Oreos, Chips Ahoy, and more, so you should have no trouble finding something you'll like. Note that many of the products are sold in bulk, so be sure you have room to store them for awhile. [Amazon Snack Sale]
Note: The coupon is an additional 20% off the listed price. Your discount won't show up until the final checkout screen.
The Canon EOS 70D is a fantastic mid-range DSLR, particularly if you plan to shoot some video, and you can grab one with a kit lens for just $799 today. Incredibly, that's a full $350 less than Amazon's current going rate of $1149, which is itself the lowest price they've ever listed. [Canon EOS 70D with 18-55mm Lens, $799]
The Wire isn't just one of the best TV shows ever made, it's probably one of the greatest works of art produced in the last century. The whole series has been remastered in HD, and you can preorder it today (with low price guarantee) for $110. It was $160 or more until today, and we don't know if it'll shoot back up. [Preorder The Wire: The Complete Series, $110]
We've found a couple of solid deals on creative lighting solutions for your home. First up, these TaoTronics copper wire string lights are more decorative than functional, but they'd be great for lighting up a patio or some outdoor furniture. Plus, their 4.7 star review average is stellar. [TaoTronics Led String Starry Light Copper Wire Lights, $13 with code YIGTGMAC]
Next up, we have an old favorite returning. The OxyLED T-01 touch light sticks on any surface, and turns on and off with a light touch of your finger. It's not motion sensing like some similar night lights we've posted in the past, but I love using these under cabinets and in dark closets. Today on Amazon, you can buy two and save, or buy three and save even more. [ OxyLED T-01 DIY Stick-on Anywhere 4-LED Touch Tap Light, get two for $14 with code 2T011399 or three for $19 with code 3T011899]
