Next time you're craving beignets, there's no need to go out and buy beignet mix. Turns out, you can make your own French-style donuts with nothing more than store-bought biscuit dough.
The wise folks at Refinery29 have enlightened us to the fact that you can actually make beignets that rival Café du Monde's with just three ingredients: store-bought canned biscuit dough, peanut or vegetable oil, and powdered sugar. Remove the pre-cut dough from the can, separate the biscuits, and pop them into hot oil. Fry a few minutes until puffy and golden brown; shower with confectioner's sugar.
And that, friends, is how you have beignets at home in under 30 minutes—no floured surfaces or rolling pins needed. Pair it with homemade New Orleans-style iced coffee and you have yourself a nice little Creole breakfast.
