The Worst Items to Buy at Walmart

The Worst Items to Buy at Walmart

Walmart is generally thought to have the lowest prices around. But this isn't always true. Kiplinger rounded up a list of items that can be found cheaper elsewhere.

Walmart may have everyday low prices, but that doesn't mean they can't be beat. Kiplinger compared Walmart's non-sale prices with the non-sale prices of its competitors. They also used data from price comparison websites. Here's what they found to be cheaper elsewhere.

  • Toys and games: For most of the items they researched, Amazon beat Walmart by several dollars.
  • Organic fruits and veggies: They found that Aldi and Trader Joe's consistently had better prices than Walmart. The same was true for organic milk.
  • Batteries: They're cheaper at bulk buying warehouse clubs. Basically, Costco.

It's worth pointing out, though: Walmart does have a price matching policy. While matching may be tricky with some items, their policy does say it'll match the same item on Amazon, as long as it's not sold from a "marketplace or third-party sellers."

These are just a few items on their list. For more, click the link below.
