If you don't want to spend a lot of money on a laptop, Chromebooks are great alternatives. To find the right one for you, software developer Danny Tuppeny created a webapp that filters several options.
With Chromebook Comparison, you can sort models by brand, processors, specs and features like RAM or touchscreens, screen size, country-wise availability, battery, weight and more. The only missing factor is price, but Tuppeny tells Hacker News that this is because prices change often, and that there isn't a huge disparity in them except for the Chromebook Pixel.
